Do Not Worry
22 Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. 23 Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing.24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? 25 And which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? 26 If you then are not able to do the least, why [a]are you anxious for the rest?27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not [b]arrayed like one of these. 28 If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?
29 “And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor have an anxious mind. 30 For all these things the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that you need these things. 31 But seek [c]the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you.
32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. 33 Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. 34 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Luke 12:22-34).
Let’s Pray,
Dear Heavenly Father, please be with our Military. Please help them with the daily stress and the jobs they have to perform; give them strength and peace of mind as they do their duty; provide them with joy in their hearts as they prepare for the work ahead; and let them know that joy comes from You and You alone. Make them resilient, give them a sharp spirit of discernment, help them see that hard work pays off, help them love their families well, and always get the help they need. Give them rest from stressful workdays, long watches, make them Your mighty Watchmen all for Your Glory, give them purpose and a heart that loves their country. Whatever cares or worries they have, may their hearts be prompted to leave them with You and trust You that You will help them every step of the way. Make our Military Victorious in Battle, and may we always stand with Israel, because You tell us in Your Word to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they are Your chosen people; we bless them, and we ask You, LORD, that You would prosper them and protect them against enemy attack, send chariots of fire all around. We ask for a hedge of protection from the enemy, make our warriors stealth-like, and let the fire of God fall upon the enemy’s camp. Provide our Military with insight into the enemy’s plots and plans, and bring confusion into the enemy’s camp. We thank You for our soldiers, give them Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and may their hearts be filled with Your unspeakable Joy. We love You and thank You for this beautiful day. May we bring Glory to Your Name because You are good, Your love endures forever. Go before us, be our mighty Rock of Defense. All power and Glory belong to You, and we praise You. In Jesus’ Holy Mighty Name! The name that is above all names. AMEN!
