Walk in Love

5 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.
Walk in Light
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Walk in Wisdom
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God (Ephesians 5:1-21).
There are countless reasons to be thankful; our God is faithful and just. The choices and decisions our young adult children make are not a reflection of us; they have been granted free will, allowing them to choose and make their own decisions. This is their journey with God, and they have the freedom to decide how they want to live their lives. Our role is to love them, pray for them, and intercede on their behalf.
Let us keep our eyes on Christ, His Word of truth, and remember all of His promises are Yes and Amen. We can rejoice in Christ because we know overwhelming victory is ours in Christ Jesus. No matter what battles our children face, we must remember that this battle is the LORD’S, and He is mighty in battle; all power and glory belong to Him.
Let’s Pray,
Dear LORD, please teach me how to pray the scriptures for the lives of my children. Show me how to pray Your will for their lives. Please give me the courage and boldness to speak to my children about any pressing issues. Lord, I know my children will be tempted and also pressured by their peers to do many things that the world considers normal. When the world and the culture pressures them to have sex, drink alcohol, do drugs and the list goes on and on, when false ideologies come their way please let Your voice be clear to them John 10:27-28 states, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand”. Lord, all Your promises are Yes and Amen. Help my children to walk in love, to be imitators of God, and let their lives be a sweet-smelling aroma to You. Let fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among them, bring to remembrance the scriptures, let them hate what you hate, give them courage to submit to You, resist the devil and he will flee. Break my children’s hearts from what breaks Yours. Give them a holy fear of You that they would not desire to sin against You. Allow them to keep Your words hidden in their hearts. Be LORD and King of their hearts, take the desire for any alcohol away from them as the scriptures say, do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, fill them with the power of Your Holy Spirit. May my children walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), enabling them to find out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. Please help them not to want to walk with sons of disobedience. Please help them choose their friends wisely. Please destroy any unwholesome bonding that is taking place between any of my kids and their friendships. Sovereignly remove any friendships that are being promoted by the kingdom of darkness. Please give them friends that will point them to You and strengthen them spiritually, God-fearing friends who worship You in Spirit and in truth. Allow my children to walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Lord, I leave all these concerns with You. Please strengthen my Faith, my walk with You. I trust You, LORD. Oh, may my children choose Your will, Your way, because You are Good, faithful forever.
“We never know how God will answer our prayers, but we can expect that He will get us involved in His plan for the answer. If we are true intercessors, we must be ready to take part in God’s work on behalf of the people for whom we pray.” ― Corrie ten Boom
Jesus is lord.

May God’s grace and peace be with you in abundance!
